How to grow it

STRATIFICATION: Open your Seeds In A Cup kit and remove the seed packet. If seeds have wings (samaras), gently remove them. Soak seeds in room-temperature water for 24 hours. Place in the provided moistened growing medium inside a sealed bag. Refrigerate at 33-41°F (1-5°C) for 60-90 days. Check moisture biweekly.

PLANTING: After stratification, fill your Seeds In A Cup container with the provided growing medium. Plant seeds ½ inch deep. Water gently until evenly moist. Place in a bright location (65-70°F) or under a grow light for 12-14 hours/day. Keep soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Germination typically occurs within 14-42 days.

SEEDLING CARE: Sugar Maple seedlings appreciate dappled light — avoid harsh direct sun on young leaves. Water regularly to maintain moist soil. When seedlings reach 4-6 inches, transplant to a larger pot. Move outdoors in USDA Zones 3-8 after the last frost. Choose a location with morning sun and rich, moist soil. Growth of 1-2 feet per year is typical.
